Your business or firm may have a website and social media pages, but another aspect of digital marketing you don’t want to skip out on is email marketing. This lucrative tactic can skyrocket your client retention rate, garner new clients, and ensure no opportunity to upsell is missed.
There are two common types of email marketing, newsletter campaigns and email automation campaigns, and here we will explore both.
What Are Newsletter Campaigns?
Newsletters are individual emails that you can schedule to go out to your email list every week, month, or other specific time frames. They might include news about the business or industry, topics that the client cares about, tips or guides, announcements, and reminders.
For example, a tax filing company might send out a monthly newsletter with tips for their business owner clientele to manage their taxes throughout the year.
The goal of a newsletter campaign is to build rapport with your following. They aren’t intended for direct selling or aggressive promoting. Newsletters allow your recipients to see the human side of your brand, learn about what you do, and be reminded of how you can help them.
What Are Email Automation Campaigns?
Email automation campaigns are emails that are sent out when triggered by a customer’s behaviour on your website. These are usually existing clients or customers whose email addresses are already in your email marketing software.
An example would be when a customer adds items from your online store to their cart and then closes the window without purchasing. This action could trigger an automated email that tells the customer that they left without purchasing what was in their cart, serving to remind them to come back and complete the transaction.
Another example would be an automated email that goes out to a recent client providing them with a discount code for their next purchase.
Email automation campaigns are an effective way to re-market to previous customers. Since these automations come from email marketing software, you can track how many emails are sent based on different triggers which give you more information about your customers and how they like to shop.
Which Email Marketing Tactic is Right for My Business?
Both newsletters and email automation campaigns are effective methods of digital marketing. However, they serve different purposes. If you are looking to support the sales cycle, improve customer retention, and increase sales, then an email automation campaign is an excellent choice. If you want to increase customer loyalty, strengthen your connection with customers, and increase brand awareness, a monthly newsletter would be a better option.
To maximize the ROI you can see from email marketing, you might consider using both campaign strategies in your marketing plan to reap the benefits of each.

A big part of what makes digital marketing so crucial to growing your firm or business is running engaging, enticing, and effective social media ads. It’s not enough to simply post to your Instagram feed or do the occasional Facebook Live. If you really want to utilize all social media has to offer your business, incorporating ads is mandatory.
Here, we’ll explore how to ensure your ads are successful and why hiring a professional to run them for you is the best option.
The Importance of Running Ads
It’s difficult to compete with other firms or businesses these days online without having an expert ad strategy. A highly customized and targeted ad strategy not only funnels leads to your website, but it can also get your brand in front of consumers you wouldn’t otherwise interact with.
How to Run Ads Successfully
Some business owners incorrectly assume they can throw some money at Facebook ads, and they will reach the right people with the right message. While there is an aspect of testing in a good ad strategy, your ads should always be intentional and well-thought-out.
Doing market research and consumer research is incredibly important before you spend money on ads. You must have a goal associated with your ad, and a target that, once hit, signifies that your strategy was effective and can be repeated.
To know when an ad is successful, it must be monitored. Understanding the data associated with ads can be helpful, such as knowing the click-thru-rate. Without knowing this information, you won’t know when your budget needs to be increased or reallocated to be more successful.
Should You Outsource Your Ads?
As you can see, running effective ads that bring a high return on investment requires a lot of work and expertise. While you can certainly take the time to learn how to run ads, do you really want to?
You spend your days managing your people, nurturing leads, connecting with past and present clients, and planning your next steps. Your time is taken working on your business. If you don’t want to spend your free hours doing social media ad implementation, you’re in luck.
A digital marketing agency can run your social media ad campaigns. We can conduct all necessary research on your business and your clients’ ad preferences. From there, we can craft a customed and highly detailed plan of attack for your ads. We will follow and track the ads from creation to expiry, noting what works well and what doesn’t, informing what strategy you should follow next.
Not to mention the fact that social media marketing agencies pride themselves on staying apprised of all platform changes and updates. If there’s an update that will impact your marketing strategy, an agency will ensure your plan adapts seamlessly.

Luckily, our team at SocialEyes Communications is dedicated to staying on top of these updates and expertly incorporating them into our clients’ marketing plans.
Here, we’ll explore some of the biggest updates to social media platforms in the last six months.
Facebook
Recently, Meta announced that it will be allowing all Reel creators to take advantage of the Facebook Stars feature. This feature allows Reel watchers to purchase stars at different amounts and send them to the Reel creator. This update allows more creators to have more options for monetizing their content.
Meta also wants to make it easier for consumers to purchase goods and services through the platform, so they’ve announced that they are working on a new digital wallet. What makes this wallet so unique is that it will allow users to own NFTs or non-fungible tokens. Because this concept is foreign to most users, Meta also released a guide on what NFTs are and how you will be able to use them on the platform one day.
Instagram
Instagram is giving users more control over how their profiles look to their followers. In the grid feed, typically, a user’s most recent grid posts show up in the top squares. With this new update, users can pin three posts to the tops of their grids to override the chronological order. This could be excellent for brands who want to keep key informational posts near the top.

TikTok
The not-so-new kid on the social media platform block has revealed an update that is making marketers clap with glee. TikTok announced its new Attribution Manager which allows ad managers to select specific and customized attributions to their ads. This means ad managers can glean more data from their ads’ performances on the platform.
In other TikTok news, after the platform was found to be failing at protecting younger users from viewing inappropriate content, they’ve made some changes. One of the facets of this update makes it easier for users to flag ad content that is unbranded or was created to trick children into making a purchase. Since cracking down on ad transparency in the app, marketers are reminded to be extra diligent in ensuring their ads are ethical and above board.
Twitter
To improve engagement on the platform, Twitter announced it will be rolling out Branded Likes. These Likes are animated and branded, as the name suggests, and will come at a cost to the brand. They will be available to all Twitter users in the US, UK, and Japan first before rolling out to everyone else.

What Are Facebook Pages?
Your Facebook Page is your business’s headquarters on Facebook. It makes it easy for Facebook users to learn about your business, your services, your credibility, and how to work with you. Not only can you advertise your offerings with posts and ads and share relevant content to your Page feed, but users can also read testimonials from previous clients on your Page.
The New Facebook Pages Experience
While that original Facebook Page option is still available, Facebook has unveiled an updated, more intuitive version for you to transition to.
The new Facebook Pages experience layout is cleaner and more organized, which means it’s easier for users to navigate. It comes with impressive Page management tools that the previous version lacked.
From your Page, you can follow the pages of leaders in your industry, brands, and your partners. This creates a unique feed for your Page that you might not have in your individual profile.
For teams, the new Facebook experience allows you to give access to your colleagues to make posts or changes to the page. You can even give access to specific tasks within the Page.
Your new Facebook Page will still have all of the posts you made previous to the change, access to Instagram account linking, monetization and advertising, insights, your inbox, Stories, events, and groups. If your Page currently has a blue badge, that will also transfer to your new Page.
Should Your Business Transition to the New Pages?
Before you make the switch to a new Page, there are a few things you should know.
First, Page Likes will only transfer over to your new Page if the user also follows your Page.
Second, the roles you assign in the original Facebook Pages such as editors and moderators will not be available. Instead, you can assign access to specific tasks within the Page.
Third, you currently cannot schedule posts in the new Page experience. To do so, you will need to use the Meta Business Suite and Creator Studio.
Fourth, some content may not transition over from your old Page. Some Stories may not transition, your ads and messages could be in different places than you’re accustomed to. Your bio may need to be shortened.
While the new Pages experience isn’t perfect, it does offer many more advancements that can benefit you as a business owner. If you choose to give it a try, you may find that it provides a much better experience for your team and your followers. Plus, you can always switch back to the classic Pages experience.

Do you create graphics and captions to post on your business’s Instagram account? Instagram views anyone who posts content to the platform as a Content Creator. And they recently announced an exciting new perk for creators.
In this blog post, learn what Subscriptions are, how they work, and how they can benefit you as a business owner.
What are Instagram Subscriptions?
You may have noticed back in 2020 that some Facebook business accounts started showing a “Subscribe” button on their pages. This was a new feature that allowed a content creator’s loyal Facebook following to financially contribute to their success.
Fast forward to 2022, and Subscriptions are finally starting to roll out on Instagram.
The feature is currently testing on Instagram with a select number of accounts, so it isn’t available to all creators yet. However, if it does well, it could be a new tool in your toolkit for monetizing your business’s social media presence.
How Do Subscriptions Work?
For the accounts that have access to the Subscriptions feature, they can place a “Subscribe” button on their Stories and/or on their Lives.
When a creator places a button on their Instagram Live, it allows them to engage deeper with those who have opted into subscribing. They can choose to do Lives that only their subscribers have access to.
If a creator adds a button to their Instagram Story, they can see which of their subscribers have seen or engaged with the Story, allowing them to engage back with those users.
Subscribers who comment on a post or send a direct message will have a badge beside their name. This helps the creator choose which users to engage with first and/or most.
Users will subscribe to an account to get these extra perks. Subscribing will cost them a set dollar amount that goes to the creator.
How Will Subscriptions Impact Your Marketing Strategy?
Assuming this feature is successful on Instagram and gets rolled out to everyone, it could be a beneficial asset in your online marketing.
Businesses could offer subscribers special deals and discounts, early access to giveaways and contests, and exclusive access to your team members and/or yourself.
If you have a service-based business, like a law firm or real estate brokerage, subscribers can easily get added to your databases and become new clients. To nurture these relationships, pay particular attention to when a subscriber messages you or comments on one of your posts (they will have a badge beside their name) and prioritize engaging with them.
Instagram Subscriptions could help you nurture online leads and help you maintain relationships with past clients who choose to subscribe.

You might think that TikTok is just for teens, hip grandparents and celebrities. However, this new and exciting social platform is proving to be extremely beneficial to professionals and entrepreneurs. Keep reading to learn about the TikTok fundamentals and how to use them to grow your business.
Who is TikTok for?
TikTok is arguably for everyone, but some specific sectors of the population use it more than others.
We know that 61% of TikTok users are female and that the age group with the highest number of users is 10-19 years old. The second highest age group is 20-29 years old.
An interesting statistic for business owners to know is that 37% of TikTok users (likely not in the teenage group) have an average household income of six figures or more. That is a lot of consumer power.
Another important thing to note is that although the group with the most users is currently teenaged and young adults, those users get older each year. Because TikTok has become such an integral part of their lives (most open the app at least eight times per day), it will likely continue to be so as they age, get jobs, and increase their income and spending capacities.
How Can Professionals Use It?
Before you create any TikTok marketing strategies, start by browsing through the app and seeing what your competitors are doing. You’ll likely notice that no one is making hard sells on this platform, nor are they doing too much self-promotion.
The purpose of this app is to create fun, interesting, engaging, and short video content that doesn’t look too professional or overly produced.
So, how does a lawyer or real estate agent or small business owner get in on the action?
You can use TikTok to demonstrate your brand’s personality and build likeability with your viewers. Here is a list of TikTok video ideas to use for your business:
Introduce all your team members over a silly song
Explain the backstory of your business’ name
Show your office pets
Record the step-by-step process of your product being made
Show a day-in-the-life of the business owner
Share tips on your specific area of expertise
Share success stories
Remember, all videos on TikTok are 10 minutes and under. And most users prefer short and snappy video content.
What Analytics Does TikTok Provide?
If you have a TikTok Business Account, you can access the analytics tab. This function allows you to select a specific time period and see which videos aired, the number of views, the number of likes, the number of profile views, and the number of shares.
You can also track your follower count, get a detailed breakdown of trends your followers engage with and what their preferences are, and the average watch time people spent on your videos.
The analytics on TikTok are robust and detailed, making it an excellent platform to market with and track your efforts.
